Select tool - select by geometry of features in another layer

Would be great to allow users to select features using the geometry of features in another layer.

I know you can do this using the Query tool, but I don't think this actually selects the features - it creates a kind of temporary layer. Although this temporary layer can be opened in the attribute table, it unfortunately cannot be filtered. Also, it's confusing for the users as they are expecting to see results from the layer they queried, not a temporary layer.

Would be great to allow users to select directly using the geometry of features in another layer - it's a common function in ArcMap.

Post far and wide. Seems a simple-ish thing. Tried making my own but using select by location but doesn't want to work.

D'oh! I saw the mention of ArcMap but didn't look up at what part of the Community I was in.

Well in that case, I give this my vote, as it would be a useful addition to WAB.

It's called "Select by Location" in Pro.
