Annotation layers do not give "Add Error Layers" option?

Hello people,

I am not sure if this is happening only to me or not. But "Add Error Layers" option in contents pane is not available for Annotation feature classes that are subject to Attribute rules in a file geodatabase. It also seems like this option is only available for "Simple" feature type? - please correct me if this is incorrect.

I prepared an attribute rule to find any overlaps between different annotation layers. But "Add Error Layers" option is greyed out if right click on the annotation layer. As this option is not available, I cannot use Error Inspector as well. Even if I manually add error layers from the geodatabase, Error Inspector does not work either.

However, if I right click on a polygon layer that is irrelevant to the attribute rule, the option becomes available and Error Inspector works fine in accordance with the attribute rules.

Am I supposed to do something to make the option is available for Annotation feature class? Or is this meant to be like this? If so, I would like to request ESRI to make this option is available for annotation feature class as well.

Thanks, this is a known bug the Add Error Layer should always light up if your workspace supports validation capability.

 

Right clicking on Anno or dimension layers doesn't allow you to add the error layers, but you can simply right click on any feature layer and that option should be available for you.
