ArcGIS Pro stuck when importing multidimensional raster layer

Question

Hi, I have trouble importing a multidimensional rater layer, after it is imported (which already takes forever) ArcGIS stucks/freezes. I cannot save it and close it, it does not respond to anything and the only this I can do is to close to software Task Manager.  I was advised to try to move to a better computer, which I did  but I am experiencing the same issue again.

Dan's comments are exactly what I would ask first - best practice is to have the layer locally on disk.  For troubleshooting performance issues, this post by Kory Kramer is good to review for hardware/software tweak - Troubleshooting Performance Issues in ArcGIS Pro (esri.com)

was the raster locally stored?  is it big? does the process work with any other md raster?
