Autofill some fields in subsequent record based on first record?

Hello:

I have a ecological survey form created in Survey123 Connect. Is it possible to autofill or pass certain fields that may not change to subsequent records until they do change.

Specifically, we have general weather fields; cloud, precip, substrate, wind. If a user fills these out on the first record of the day, can they be passed to subsequent records for the day until they need updating? i.e. it starts raining.

Got this request from field users to save a few clicks, but not sure if this is possible or how to go about it. Attached is my current survey build for reference.

If you do some searches this has come up a lot. I have been trying for over 5 years now. The short answer is no not really. Except there is a javascript way I got to work but I cannot use javascript since I work across 2 AGOL orgs. If you can use it just search and you will see my code posted.

I was able to get a defaults page to work. Basically you set fields to a set default then I have a button that says use defaults? then they populate for the user. I posted this too if you can find it.

Hi Doug, thanks for your quick response! I did some searches, but didn't have all the right terms. I did find your solution of the "use defaults". That may not work for the question I asked about, but might come in handy elsewhere. Not sure I am ready for the Javascript yet! 😉

The old software we were using, Pendragon Forms, you could just clone a record and in the form build indicate which fields you wanted to copy over. Was hoping there was some simple solution like that here.

Now that I was able to find more posts on the topic, yes, seems it is a much requested feature!
