Create mid point for each polygon in a feature class

Mean Center (Spatial Statistics) calcuates a mid point for a set of points. What I would like to calcuate instead is a mid point for each polygon in a feature class:

Is there a function that can achieve this, possibly returning a feature class of points with the results?
