Unable to upgrade Portal from 10.8.1 to 10.9.1 in Linux environment

Hi,

I’m currently trying to upgrade ArcGIS Enterprise  from 10.8.1 to 10.9.1. It’s an HA environment installed in Linux Redhat 7.

I successfully run the install of Portal 10.9.1 in Portal1.

After that I tried to run the upgrade. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a success. I received the following error.

When I checked the folder /var/arcgis/portal/usr/arcgisportal/logs/database/pgsql.log, it shows that PostgreSQL version is not correct.

Any idea how to fix that problem?

Hello ZDouiri, have you resolved this issue? If yes, would you share the workaround? As I am also experiencing the same one when upgrading from 10.7.1 to 10.9.1, the OS is RHEL 7.9.

Yes.  Here is the suggestion which I passed to IT.  I will get update from IT to see what the results were.

I understand that you are facing an issue in upgrading the data store from 10.8.1 to 10.9.1. As you are getting an error that states: The data directory was initialized by PostgreSQL version 12, which is not compatible with this version 10.10. As I have checked with my internal resources that there is an installation version for each software and the Postgres version work simultaneously with the Portal for ArcGIS Version. If you have 10.8.1 deployment then the software version would be 10.8.14362 and the Postgres version would be 10.10. Hence, could you kindly reconfirm the setup file that was run for the datastore is of the 10.9.1 version and not of the 10.8.1 version.

I am looking at doing a 10.8.1 to 10.9.1 upgrade on our ubuntu linux servers soon so will be keeping an eye on this.

Have you logged it with your esri support yet?  If so have they come back with anything?
