Point symbology outline or halo not showing in ArcGIS Online

Hi,

Trying to load a point dataset into ArcGIS Online from ArcGIS Pro. The point data is symbolised with letters in white with a black halo (see attached screenshot). This previously worked in ArcGIS Online, but now the black halo is not showing.

If the data is pulled back into ArcGIS Pro the halo does work. However in ArcGIS Online (Map Viewer) and Field Maps the halo cannot be seen.

Tried changing the halo to a black outline, but this still did not work.

Any suggestions on how to get this outline to come through? This worked previously, perhaps this is an issue following the ArcGIS Online upgrade?

Halo is not yet supported yet you can track the halo support enhancement with this reference support ticket: ENH-000153414

I'm having the same problem, but with an arrow symbol. The symbology worked perfectly in AGOL since 2022, and within the last few weeks I noticed that the halo no longer appears. Was there a change in how halos are supported? @ShaneONeill_144 @RussRoberts  I have tried republishing the service, with no success. When I pull the service back into Pro, the halo appears as expected.

I tested this out with halo and checked our backlog and we have plans to support this for text symbols next release. I checked previous JS Maps SDK versions and the halo was not coming through other releases so it looks like not a regression from the recent update. As a work around if you are formatting your text symbol in Pro through the properties panel instead of the symbol tab halo.
