Error 000072 creating XY to line file

Question

trying to use upper and lower coordinates of a reservoir to draw a geodesic line between them. Attached is a picture of the upper coordinates. I have added XY data to the map for both sets of coordinates and had no issues. When I try to use the XY to Line function, each time it gives me error 000072 and tells me to repair the geometry of the file (which I have done, to no avail).

Nothing is drawn and there is an empty feature class added. Wondering what my problem is here and how I get around it?

Hi Dan,

That was just a preview of the data to show the format of the lat lng coords - I have 4 columns with two sets of points to draw the lines between.

I tried the make xy event layer and then create the XY to Line feature class from this and it seemed to work on first attempt. Unsure why this is, but hopefully that works for all the files I need to convert. Thanks.

Your table only shows 2 columns.

Have you used

XY Table To Point—Data Management toolbox | Documentation

Make XY Event Layer—Data Management toolbox | Documentation

prior to trying to make the line file?
