In ArcGIS, I want to create a non-overlapping polygon layer from street centerlines like the attached image. My colleague gave me this image, but she doesn't remember how she did this. Finally, I want to test spatial auto-correlation from the polygon layer.
I read a post How to buffer a polyline without overlap at verticies , but didn't quite understand the solution.
Richard's solution is pretty good... is there something specific that you don't understand?
Thanks Dan. I wonder if there is any other simpler solution. I was trying his instruction but gave up for its complexity. He mentioned he was developing an Add-In but seems he didn't yet. If there is no alternative, I need to try it carefully again.
