There should be an intuitive symbol set for traffic collision types (e.g. pedestrians for pedestrian crashes, bicycles for bicyclists, motorcycles, maybe arrows pointing into each other for head-on, animal, etc).

As an ArcGIS Pro user, I would also like to second this suggestion. I expect that crash mapping by crash type is a pretty common use case.
Here's a list of crash types in the geodatabase I am working with: angle; animal; fixed object; front to front; front to rear; other object; parked motor vehicle; pedalcyclist; pedestrian; rear to front; rear to side; sideswipe opposite direction; sideswipe same direction; turning.
