2000-2001 –John Schaeffer is a Primary instructor for an NSF funded effort to train high school to university GIS instructors
2007 Kenya 2-day Conservation GIS course & technical presentations at the SCGIS Kenya Conference led by John Schaeffer
2008- FIRST SCGIS SCHOLAR TRAINING: John Schaeffer leads 3 days of advanced training at the University of California James Reserve
John goes on to serve as Lead instructor for SCGIS Scholars annual in-depth Desktop GIS training & Conservation GIS Project management for the next 8 years
