Introduction
The final section of Conservation Geography is devoted to the work of the all-volunteer Society for Conservation GIS. Founded in 1995, it is the primary source of support, help, guidance, and mentorship for hundreds of struggling nonprofit and nongovernmental organizations around the world. The map (above) shows the location of the current SCGIS members and projects, active in dozens of countries, with new chapters forming every year.
