we are planning on upgrading/migrating our ArcGIS from 10.1 to 10.6, so for the SQL server how many cores ESRI recommends for a virtual server?
It all depends on your specific system. Please take a look at the Capacity Planning Tools to appropriately size the DB server to your specific needs.
