How to load feature layers into a list?

The example from the developers website shows loading layers into a list https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/jssamples/map_dynamiclayerlist.html However, those appear to be Map Service layers.

My layers are hosted as a feature layer can I still use the same methods?
