Copy Geometry - Feature to Feature

Simply trying to copy the geometry of one polygon feature class to another polygon feature class...

I seem to remember this working easily in v9.2-v9.3 in past experience...

I am likely missing something simple that is no longer intuitive.



I opened up a new map, and now I am able to copy and paste the exact same features to feature set...

Corruption in mapfile?

Okay so I am getting confused.  Sometimes I can copy and past other times, nothing doing about it.. Same Feature set to Feature set..

Sometimes the PASTE option is greyed out and sometimes it isn't..

AND sometimes my edits are never saved eventhough I save them and I edit the table, save.... save...

and poof not there...

SO I though perhaps it was a corrupted feature set, so I created an entirely new one... wow... start from scratch and I am at the same place as before...

Anyone else having these issues or ones like them?

Any clue to an answer why?
