How do you remove layer that is not responding anymore

Question

In my online map one of the layers I added is no longer responding. Since it never show up, I don't have the option of removing it but I get the nuisance error message each time I load the map.

Great. Thanks. Didn't think of that. 
You should be able to simply save the map again. Once the layer fails to load, it is removed from the map.
