Is there is maximun shape area size for using the 'Cut Polygon Fetaures' tool.

Question

I'm using 9.3.1 and doing some edits on a polygon layer. I'm using the 'Cut Polygon Features' tool to add and/or change the existing polygon. I've used this tool many a time with success and now I have run into a problem. I get an error message saying 'The Cut Polygons task could not be completed' The polygon in question is quite large. The shape area is 2198919237.16625. Any thoughts on this matter??

Try the Check Geometry tool or the Repair Geometry tool.

I have the same problem ( the cut polygon task could not completed) what is solution.....

I came across the same error. I think the cause was that the polygon I was editinghad some double backs or crossovers (sloppy creation). Whatever the reason I cleaned up the polygon and was able to finish the edit. I cannot see that there should be any size limit.

I'm having the same problem, keep getting "the cut polygon task could not be completed" error message. I know the polgon created was messy because previous tracks had not been cleared. However the polygon can not be exploded into multiple parts. Can you explain what you mean by you 'cleaned up the polygon'?
