Can I add a layer thru a ASP.NET Handler? HOW??

I have access to a layer served thru a ashx , can I add it as a layer like I'm adding a wms layer?

Any trick in any case to do it?

Depends what the handler is doing?  (e.g. is it acting as the endpoint or as a proxy?)
