I am new to Web Development and have been trying to use ArcGIS JavaScript API 4.1 to do a search on a feature layer have the suggestion template come up with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Suggestions are available if working with a 10.3 geocoding service that has suggest capability loaded or a 10.3 feature layer that supports pagination, i.e. supportsPagination = true.
You are using 10.21 so you do not have support for this.
