How to prevent the added text symbol don't overlap with other text symbol?

Question

In ArcMap, there is a "Placement Proerties" in layer properties that allows you to set it's label/feature weight, so the labels will not overlap each other... However, I was wondering if the ArcGIS Javascript API can also support this feature, because I cannot find any related information in the API document.

Hi Stephen - There seem to be limited options for client-side labeling with the JS API. They introduced a 'label layer'‌ (at 3.7) that I have used which optimizes layout, however it does so by selectively removing labels more often than not. When it's critical, I actually publish a service from ArcMap with the labels set as I want and then load the layer as an 'ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer' so that they will appear in the web map. The font is usually not as pretty, but I avoid having labels removed that I need to see.
