Programmatic changes to Extent not added to History

Question

When I change the extent programmatically, the changes are not added to the extent history so that when I click the Prev Extent button, nothing happens. Is there a way to add to it?

are you using the setExtent method? if so it should get caught by the history.  We do this all the time in our app.
