Configuring ArcGIS Online Legends

Question

I have several web maps I would like to publish.  I used the map notes template to create an editable layer.  However, the legend shows pins, points, polygons, etc.  I would like to make those disappear. Also, how do I create a legend in my web maps that has sub-ledgends much as the legends in ArcGIS desktop.  Thanks.

Sorry, there are no additional controls on the legend.

Having the same exact problem. Someone please help.

When I wanted to display the layer... It is pretty obvious we want the labels to appear on the left hand side so they are clickable, much like google maps,
Not a bunch of shapes... lol

Anyone have a work around for this? Or did i just waste 3 hours entering data.
