Customize Time Slider in JavaScript API to Fade Out/In on Transition

We are customizing an application in JavaScript API 3.5.  Included in the application is a Time Slider.  Data source is a time-enabled Raster Catalog.

Is there a way to set transparency while transitioning from one year to the next to have that fade out/fade in effect?
