AUTOCAD TO ARCGIS ONLINE

Hi, i am trying to extract some data from AUTOCAD to shapefile then zip them before uploading them to arcgis online. Unfortunately i get an error "UNABLE TO IMPORT THIS SHAPEFILE". When i look at my files i have 6 files not 7 then realized that i lack the .prj file, could this be the reason and why is it that when I export the features to shapefile i do not get this .prj file?

I'm not completely sure, but it's a good guess that not having the .prj file is why you're having trouble with ArcGIS Online...did you set a spatial reference to the layer(s) in ArcMap?

If not, I would suggest doing that and then try publishing again....does that work?
