Need to automate the process of creating soil sample points

Question

I am trying to automate the process of creating soil sample points in ArcGIS I have an ANSI text file with no lat long just attributes. I need to organize the attributes in the text file and link to a point file in as few steps as possible. Any ideas for automation?

To generate point patterns, see my blog   a grid pattern is probably what you want.  The pdf file in the blog gives technical details and the blog contains a link to the toolbox.  If you have a field in the text file which can be used as an ID field, you can join your tabular data to the points file.
