Direct URL to selected feature zoomed in

Is it possible using the sample flex viewer v2.2 to zoom to a specific selected feature on load based on the URL? From an external page, I would like the user to be able to click a link that opens the viewer to, in my case, a selected parcel. I'm guessing the solution would be something like this:

http://<server name>/sampleflexviewer/index.html?additional_text_here

Am I on the right track? Please help!

Take a look at the this nearby thread (Passing Parameter to Flex Viewer) for a couple of ways to do this depending upon what information you want to pass in the URL http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/21180-Passing-Parameter-to-Flex-Viewer

You'll need to modify and recompile the code. This can't be done through config files on the fully compiled viewer.
