How can i read the geometry data for a polyline/polygon to save them to a different file?
Use Feature to Line or Feature to polygon tools from your tool box either of these will create a new file.
To add to what Eric asked. . . What format is the geometry data you are trying to work with? Is it a file geodatabase, a shapefile, etc . . .
