Creating Annotations with ArcGIS Pro?

Question

Hi. I have several  features with labels and merged all those features into one (requirement). The labels are now gone(which makes sense), but I am wondering if there is a way to add the annotations/free form text to the merged feature in ArcGIS Pro. If not, is there a potential work around in another program to add customer labels/annotations?

ArcGIS Pro does now support Geodatabase annotation. It does not and may never support map annotation.

You may want to review the following blog: https://community.esri.com/community/gis/applications/arcgis-pro/blog/2017/03/05/arcgis-pro-roadmap   I believe that annotation is coming out soon.

Seems a bit crazy: How can a PROfessional mapping software package not support the full use of annotations?  ESRI, please prioritize this
