In the Add Data window, the user should have the option to view the layers available in a table or list view, as well as grid, similar to how ArcGIS Online has it as options within the contents window. The current grid view doesn't allow users to view longer layer names without hovering over them layer by layer, meaning users fallback to searching on ArcGIS Online and then copying the ID over.
