Hi folks,
I’m facing a confusing behavior while working with a local Utility Network (File Geodatabase) in ArcGIS Pro, and I wanted to check if anyone has seen the same.
Scenario
- I created:
- A new Asset Group (Subtype) = Subtype_Test
- Two new Asset Types (coded value domains – Short Integer)
- Then:
- Assigned the Asset Type to the Asset Group → Save > ✅ Success
- But:
- When I try to switch to the second Asset Type, I get:
ERROR 004049: Unable to modify domain, one or more asset types have been deleted
AssetGroup(155,SubtypeTest),AssetType(2,tew)

Notes
- Both Asset Types are newly created
- They are not assigned to any other Asset Group
- No additional configuration steps were done (no rules, no topology changes, etc.)
- The issue happens immediately after initial assignment
- A colleague tested the same workflow:
- Different machine
- Different ArcGIS Pro version
- Different Domain Network (Water) and mine is Electric.
→ Same issue reproduced
Also, I’ve reviewed the following source, but it doesn’t provide clear guidance or a practical solution to the issue.
ArcGIS Pro 3.6 & ArcGIS Pro 3.2
