Unable to Reload Web Map Symbols from Map Services

Question

I have published a map service with layers to ArcGIS Portal and then then add the map service a web map. The web map can show the symbols in the map service.

Then I have updated the symbols in the map serivce and re-published the map service. But the web map cannot show the new symbols. How can I apply the new symbols to the map without removing/adding new map service?

Hi @MatsHardy the only option I believe you have is to update the symbology of the map service directly in the web map.
