ArcGIS Web App Builder Deprecation Schedule

Our agency is working to update and transition applications from Web App Builder to either Instant App's or Experience Builder. According to Esri’s official deprecation notice (Esri Support Article😞

• You will no longer be able to create new Web AppBuilder apps after the Q1 2026 ArcGIS Online update.
  

• Existing apps will stop being accessible by the Q2 2027 update.

What is the expected date of the Q1 2026 ArcGIS Online update? If a date is not available, what about a month?  Also, although it says you cannot create new Web App Builder apps after that date, can they still be updated through Q2 2027?  Clarification in this area is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for raising this, these are important clarifications. From what Esri has communicated, the Q1 2026 update typically occurs between January and March, but an exact date isn’t officially published. After that update, creating new Web AppBuilder apps will be disabled, but existing apps should remain editable and functional until the Q2 2027 update, when they will no longer be accessible. It’s wise to start transitioning to Instant Apps or Experience Builder well before Q1 2026 to ensure a smooth migration.
