Saving to a staging feature layer for public edits in crowdsourcing

Is there a way to take the edits made using the Editor widget in the 4.14 Javascript API and save to a new feature layer. I need a simple Yes/No/Name Change publicly editable layer that will push the "edits" on a road network to a new feature layer.

The display of the original road network, and editing all make sense but I am having trouble finding how to save to a separate feature layer.

I have already seen the crowd source tools but the public interface is clunky and it is asking for way more info than I need.
