Unable to enable editor tracking on feature service

Question

What could prevent the activation of editor tracking?

Clicking on "Keep track of who edited the data (editor name, date and time).", saving and getting a "Save wasn't successful. Try again later." message.

The service has views. Could that be it?

I know editor tracking was activated at some point for this service, but I don't remember what I did/when it was deactivated.

Still not working this morning. I have all the rights, it's my hosted feature service (not a view). Thanks for your suggestion, though!

Could this be due to the hasStaticData and sourceSchemaChangesAllowed properties?

I'll try to change them for the views in this service and activating again. Will update with any relevant info.

It's possibly ArcGIS Online being a bit funky.  I'd retry later/sign out sign-in again.  Also ensure you have the rights to change the properties etc.  Also just make sure it's not a View, as the properties are inherited from the parent Hosted feature layer.
