MGRS locator as Address Locator service?

Hi all, 
I'm wondering if it's possible to create a separate Address Locator for MGRS coordinates, and to publish this to Server as a service for other web apps to use as a conversion tool (ie. enter MGRS, get point).
It seems Arc "speaks" MGRS natively, and it shows up in the DefaultLocators.xml as a locator - but doesn't have anything in the workspace_properties tag. When I try to create a new address locator, it doesn't show up as a style.
I'm certain it must be possible, but I'm not sure how - I'm assuming it's something simple I'm missing. Apologies if this is a simple question.

I was helped with this same issue by someone from ESRI.  In my ArcGIS Desktop install (we are running 10.5.1 but it was there before as well), there is a pre-built MGRS locator in C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\Desktop 10.5\Locators in the form of 'MGRS.loc'.  We were able to publish as a geocoding service right from here: in Catalog, right mouse click, share as... Geocode service.
