Is it possible to create a URL that opens up Field Maps with a specific map loaded, but not zoom to a specific feature to edit.
Is there a referenceContext parameter for just doing this?

https://fieldmaps.arcgis.app/?itemID=<item_id>&referenceContext=open&portalURL=https%3A%2F%2F<org>.arcgis.com
If you use Field Maps Designer you can find this link in your share tab
Also there is a video that talks about it around 5 minute mark (whole video is worth a look)
