Whenever I publish data to AGO (by copying to the hosted environment), and share with the open data interface, the description is being duplicated. Why is this happening and can I do anything to prevent showing the same text twice?

Can you share a link to one of your datasets where it is listed twice? This might be a case where you have a description for the Item, but there is also a description in the Service. If you post a link I can take a look and confirm.
