Profiles comparing line Z values to a raster surface

Would like to be able to create a 3D a profile graph along a linear feature that compares the z-values from a line feature to the elevation surface. That could be used to compare the assigned z-values on the vertices to the elevation surface. Global Mapper has that and it is quite handy!
