"There was an error" of hosted feature layer with no further explanation

The feature layer in my map and app is crucial, but it's currently displaying an "There was an error" warning. I can't view, edit, or access the settings. I used to allow editing, but I don't believe that's the issue. How did this occur, and how can I resolve it? Thanks!
