Is a paid license required to show photos in pop ups? I've followed the tutorials and nothing seems to work. I just get the photo icon every time.

You do not need a paid license required to show photos in pop-ups, this is more likely an issue with this service and its attachments.
I have tested and confirmed this with a public account (free account) and I could open a pop-up with photos without issue.
This is a really late reply. I tried everything - all the tutorials, different browsers, etc. The photos pop ups just don't work. We're using Google My Maps until we can find a solution because we really need visitors to our maps to see photo pop ups. I have a new iMac but tried on a PC as well. Confused.
