i have a shapefile of the provinces of australia which contains polygons and i want to extract latitutde and longitude fields for these polygons so i can use them as dimensions for creating a netcdf file. How can i extract these two fields from a polygon shapefile? i tried calculating centroid x and y by adding the field and using "Calculate Geometry tool but this is probably not the right solution. I have also attached the shapefile below.
You have to convert the polygon to points
