My tracks - uploads pending

I'm using ArcGIS FieldMaps (v 22.1.0) with ArcGIS Online. I have enabled Location tracking for a user. He is supposed to go off-line in the field and collect data. I did a test outside, and started and stopped the Location tracking while off-line. When I turned back at the office and got on-line, the track collected is showing on the phone but not in AGOL. In FieldMaps I see "Uploads pending" under My tracks layer. Did I do something wrong in my workflow? Shall I be on-line when I activate the Location tracking on the phone?
