I am still learning ESRI API. I need help for this requirement as following with the codes that I attach here.
Use the JavaScript prompt() method(link is external) to ask the user for a subset of data to map (e.g., a state). We'll see better methods for getting user input and return to your selected scenario.
I have hard time to connect it with ClassBreaksRenderer.
It is for training in a school. I have hard time to connect with it with ClassBreaksRenderer.

Hi @LindaLin, is this for a school or work assignment? I would recommend the Get started page on the ArcGIS API for JavaScript site, and then go through some tutorials to get a feel for how the API works.
