Hi, I have flood plain or stormwater , location of all the asset within an area. I am trying to identify which assets are at risk.

If the pinkish area is the flood plain, go with my suggestions

select by location for the points and polygons

and intersect for the lines

floodplain + municipal water management + our asset locations = identifying the equipment that is most at risk (That's my goal).

What do you intend to do with a DEM?

If it doesn't add to the analysis, don't just start adding things. Your work will lose focus 😉
