Selection in map on click

Hello,

is there a roadmap to enable selection on map just via clicking to the map?

Selection tool is fine, but for wide non-GIS audience it´s confusing, that they must use another tool to select a feature than the click to the feature.

This is not on the immediate Dev roadmap. Please vote for this enhancement, 

single-click map selection to update widgets
