Merge Divided Roads tool not working

Hello,

 

I am using the Geo processing tool "Merge Divided Roads" for a city road network.

The tool works on most of the parallel line features . However I noticed that tool is not working with short line features. e.g- parallel lines shorter than around 10m are not getting merged. (As it can be seen in the above pic, the highlighted lines are left unmerged). Does anyone know a workaround for this problem?

Could you check if  Resolve Road Conflicts* tool helps, when you run it on the output of "Merge Divided Roads"?

* This tool does not produce output layers but instead alters the geometry of the source feature classes of the input layers. It is recommended that you make a copy of your input features before you run this tool.
