Arabic text not displaying correctly in ArcEngine's IDynamicDisplay.

I am running ArcEngine 10.5. I am displaying Arabic text under symbols using IDynamicDisplay.DrawText and IDynamicCompoundMarker.DrawCompoundMarker2. Arabic text runs together like cursive writing. When I use these methods, there are spaces between the Arabic letters. Is there a way to remove this space and change the font that is used when displaying the text for these methods. Thanks in advance. I am an ESRi rookie so any help is appreciated.

Here is the correct text without extra spacing: "المؤتمر الدولي"
