Clip Raster with Polygon Freezes ArcGIS.

I have a GeoTIFF I downloaded from LidarExplorer (both 10m and 30m) which I want to clip with a polygon shape (Boundary of Mt. St. Helens Volcanic Monument).  Every time I do this ArcGIS freezes the panels but not the Map view.  The little blue balls keep dancing at the top of the Clip Properties panel.  I've ran it overnight and the only way to stop it is to end the process under Windows.  I've used the same raster and shape and successfully cut the raster in QGIS.  I can cut raster with window extent without problem (I use a cut down raster in attached image).

Have you tried using the ExtractByMask geoprocessing tool?
