All,

Here is the next in my line of widgets for the FlexViewer 2.x.

The legend portion of this widget is the same code as my dynamic legend widget so,

IT IS FOR ARCGIS SERVER 10 OR GREATER ONLY

This is just a simple TOC Widget that includes my dynamic legend component.
This widget also includes my enhancement for map service transparency,
right click context menu for zoom to make layer visible, and my scale
dependent renderer for the TOC checkboxes.

I had it as and it still will not show the legend:

We have security enabled through AGS for the map service, so I tried the same with the 3.15 version since it said it dealt with showing legends in secure services. No change though.

Are you using a proxy?
Are you using security through tokens?
Are you using SSL?
Are you saying that even when you manually expand the toc items that there is no legend swatches?

We are using the AGS Web Adapter, no tokens, no ssl, and yes even when I expand manually there are no swatches. Attached screenshot.

So the identity manager pops up when you go into your viewer? Are you working with the uncompiled version?

Have you ever considered adding the ability to save legend properties similar to the eBookmark or eDraw widget? For example if the user has turned layers on/off or set transparencies they could save those 'settings' and load them back in later? I'm not even sure that's possible, but one of our communities asked for this.

Services Directory is enabled....we are at AGS 10.1 sp1. We have internal viewers that use feature services that display the swatches, screenshot attached.

you did not really mean that and you were only reffering to having the Web Adaptor installed...? You did not click on the padlock icon in ArcGIS Server manager and edit the service security?

No. We are using Web Adaptor and we did edit service security through AGS Manager.

Are you saying the viewer that is not displaying the legends is a external/public viewer? Can you access the REST Service url form outside you intranet?

It is external. I can access it outside our network with proper credentials. When I log in to the REST service off the network, I enter my password (same one users enter off network) and I can access and see the Legend....very strange. Could it be some kind of interaction between widgets?

Sounds like you have your server locked down the some other authetication method than the ones provided by ArcGIS Server. My widget will work with token based security. It sounds like you need to setup a proxy page that will provide the credentials for the rest requests that are coming externally. I don't mess with proxy pages so I can not guide you in this, but my widget should work with a proxy once you get it setup.

Hi Robert,

I noticed recently that you added support for secure services with token authentication. I just tested this out and it works for the layers, however the legend is not displayed? Is this how it is at the moment or am I doing something wrong?

If I wanted to add that legend in for secure services, whereabouts in the code could I do that?

Are you using Windows authentaction or LDAP?

Token based security has been tested a lot and DOES produce a legend.

Do you get the indentity manager popup asking for credentials?

Nope. Using a token added into the main config file for the layer. If I remove that then the credentials popup does come up, I enter the details and the legend isn't showing there anyway.

Are you using Windows authentaction or LDAP?

I'm using Windows domain to get the users and roles are handled in GIS server.

I noticed if I login via REST services manager then go to the flex app, it doesn't show the credentials popup and shows the legend.

Ok I've sorted it, looks like I was using an older version of the code, downloaded the latest version and seems to be ok now.

Lock the TOC from being closed.
make it narrower and taller.

is this something i can customize if i download the uncompiled version?

Yes by adding the enableCloseButton="false" to the WidgetTemplate.
This can be done my adding a height and width attribute to the widget in the main config.xml (no coding required).

Sorry for the confusion, but no. I meant that you do need the source code for number one and the enableCloseButton goes in the mxml code as an attribute of the WidgetTemplate Element.

Sorry wrong post. I will repost in eMapSwitcher or eSearch. My question is: how to make eSearch widget honor autoswitchtoscale when you click on the results and it zooms in?

I am using the 2.5.1.1 version of this widget as well as 2.5 Viewer for Flex Compiled version on ArcGIS Server 10.0

Two questions about this widget.

1. Can I change the color when selecting a layer (as seen in attachment) from white to something else within the Compiled version, or are my two options to change overall color scheme -or- make changes using uncompiled version?

2. I noticed that in your (Robert's) http://gis.calhouncounty.org/FlexViewer3.0 TOC/Legend example site you have the TOC/Legend data synced up with the data toc that is controlled by the MapSwitcher widget.......layerlist visible="true". In other words, when a layer is turned on in one, that command is reflected in the other. Can I do this in the 2.5 Compiled Viewer for Flex? If so, how?

Using the compiled version you would have to change your FVs style tags to change that. Using the uncompiled you could make a coding change to handle that.
One my site I am using the FV 3.0 and one of my 3.0 version of the TOC widget where the interaction with the TOC and MapSwither was fixed. But no you can not get this fix for the 2.5 compiled version.
