List Widget - Symbology

Hi All,

I'm trying to have a list widget display the point features in the current map extent, including symbology. As you can see in the screenshot, the symbology border colour is included in the list but not the colour from the center of the point symbology.

Does anyone know if there is a trick to this?

Edit: Just noticed that the legend doesn't appear correctly either.

Ok,
I've solved this for myself - maybe.

"Adjust size automatically" appears to affect the size of the legend and list symbology. Toggle it off and legend/list symbology functions as expected.

I might report a bug - though not sure if maybe I'm misunderstanding the "Adjust size automatically" setting or using it inappropriately.

I definitely built this map in AGOL, not Pro.

I guess I don't understand what you mean when you say zoom in on the legend. That's not possible. The Map widget has an adjustable zoom level, the legend widget doesn't. I don't think list widgets do either.

This is what I'm viewing as a bug. Widgets that have no zoom/scale functionality adjust their symbology based on scale settings.

My outline width is 4px. The symbology in my list widget is 12px wide, but doesn't display anything except the border colour. 4+4=8px wide. I don't think widgets are intepreting symbology correctly.

Just to clarify: 'Adjust size automatically' is causing the issue, it does not help.

Not sure what your comments about map viewer vs experience builder relate to. The problem is not symbol compatability from Pro. The problem is caused by map viewer/web map settings and how Experience Builder widgets interpret them.

No, I’m not referring to zooming in on the map. If you zoom in on the legend, you can see the symbology is actually correct—it’s just not very clear. The outline is more prominent than the fill color. I don’t think it’s necessarily a bug; it’s likely a sizing issue, which would explain why enabling auto-adjust size helps. You could also try reducing the outline width slightly.

Also, if it were a compatibility issue across clients, the problem would persist in applications like Experience Builder rather than just in Map Viewer.

Thanks for trying, Laura. But the problem is with the symbology displayed in the legend or a list widget. Zooming in on the map does not affect the zoom level of the symbology displayed in these widgets. But the settings for zooming in on a map's symbology do affect the symbology in a widget that cannot be zoomed in on.

I think you've settled it for me, I'll report a bug.

You can check the “Use symbol types compatible with all clients” box to convert ArcGIS Pro symbols into web-friendly symbols that display correctly across all applications, including most older clients.

I’m not sure if this map was published directly from Pro or designed entirely in ArcGIS Online, but regarding the legend—it’s likely a size issue. If you zoom in, you’ll see the symbology is correct; it just appears unclear.
